IT'S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY. Learning to manage mental health symptoms and issues can be a difficult challenge. Deciding to get help is an important decision and I am so glad you are here. If you are on my page, you are taking the first step in trying to change your life. Learning to change patterns and seeking support can be a scary thing, but the first step is finding a therapist who is a good fit for you.
The most important feature in any therapeutic environment is the therapeutic relationship. The significance of this relationship cannot be taken lightly and finding a good fit is paramount. I firmly believe that providing emotional safety led with empathy is the cornerstone of my practice. Feeling seen, heard, and validated by another person can help us heal from difficult challenges in life. I also think having a good sense of humor when appropriate is essential to the therapeutic process.
I have found that I work best with clients who have developmental trauma and as a result tend to become people pleasers to avoid conflict. I believe doing foundational work in boundary setting, emotional regulation, mindful self-compassion, and learning to communicate our needs and wants to others is essential in learning to take up space. Additionally, trauma work can be effective in helping to heal those tendencies that have been a part of our life for a long time. Additionally, it can assist in building the relationships and life we have been longing for.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Also, I have been intensely trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am Internal Family Systems-Informed (IFS-informed).
Please reach out if you feel like I am a good fit for you and your needs. I look forward to hearing from you.
